SSIM Type 3 & Type 4 Record Retrieval Guide

Overview

The Standard Schedules Information Manual (IATA SSIM) establishes standard electronic data formats for exchanging global airline schedules. Within Chapter 7 of the SSIM standard:

  • Type 3 Records (Flight Leg): Define individual flight leg operational and commercial schedules (origin, destination, departure/arrival times, equipment, seating configuration, and operating designations).
  • Type 4 Records (Segment Data & DEI): Carry segment-level overrides and Data Element Identifiers (DEIs), which convey codeshare operating relationships, crew employer disclosures, terminal overrides, and e-ticketing compatibility.

All standard SSIM record lines have a fixed width of exactly 200 characters (bytes).

Output Formats & Prompt Variations

Variation 1: Raw Standard Fixed-Width (IATA 200-Byte Format)
